Executive Team

Dr. Hosseinion has been our Company’s Chief Executive Officer and director since July 2008. In 2001, Dr. Hosseinion co-founded ApolloMed Hospitalists. Dr. Hosseinion received a B.S. in Biology with a minor in Biochemistry from the University of San Francisco, M.S. from Georgetown University in Physiology and Biophysics, and a M.D. from Georgetown University School of Medicine. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine at USC Medical Center.

Dr. Vazquez has served as ApolloMed’s Chief Medical Officer since 2014, having previously served as the Company’s President and Chairman of the Board from 2008 to 2011. Dr. Vazquez co-founded ApolloMed Hospitalists in 2001. He received a B.S. in Biology from the University of California, Irvine and a M.D. from the College of Medicine at the University of California, Irvine. Dr. Vazquez completed his Residency in Internal Medicine at USC Medical Center and is a Diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine.

Mr. Shah is a seasoned healthcare executive with over 10 years of experience in the healthcare services sector. Mr. Shah joined ApolloMed as a consultant in March 2016. Prior to joining ApolloMed, he was CFO of Unitek Information Systems, a private equity-backed company that offers nursing, allied health and information technology training programs. Prior to this, from 2013 to 2015, Mr. Shah was Vice President and Controller of Health Essentials, LLC ("HES"), a private equity-backed healthcare organization that has been providing post-acute care and hospice/palliative care services to the frail and elderly population in California since 1996. Prior to this, from 2005 to 2013, he was Vice President of Finance and Analytics at Arcadian Health Plan, a venture-backed Medicare Advantage HMO with 64,000 members in 15 states and revenue of $640 million. Arcadian was acquired by Humana in August 2011. Mr. Shah is a Certified Public Accountant and received a Master of Commerce-Cost Accounting from Gujarat University in Ahmedabad, India.

Mr. Marten joined ApolloMed in May 2014 as Chief Executive Officer of Maverick Medical Group. He is a seasoned healthcare executive with over 25 years of experience and a proven track record of developing a vision and strategies for healthcare organizations and improving outcomes. He has held Senior Executive Management positions with Health Plans, Management Service Organizations (MSOs) and large Independent Physician Associations (IPAs), successfully helping to increase revenues above anticipated levels and producing operational efficiencies.

Dr. Chindris was appointed President of Apollo Palliative Services in October 2014. Dr. Chindris earned his M.D. from the University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Cluj,Romania and completed an internship and residency in internal medicine at Brooklyn Hospital inBrooklyn, New York and Mercy Hospital in Buffalo, New York. He has held memberships in the American College of Physicians and the American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine. He is fluent in Romanian, French, Italian, Spanish and English. Dr. Chindris was a Senior Partner at HealthCare Partners before it was acquired by DaVita in 2012.

Mr. Burns is a seasoned healthcare executive with over 25 years of experience.Prior to joining ApolloMed in February 2016, Mr. Burns served as Executive Vice President, Physician Services for Sound Physicians for three years. Shawn was a key executive in the growth of Sound Physicians from $25 million to over $350 million in revenues and a successful recapitalization of the company valued at over $700 million. Prior to this, he served as Vice President, Physician Services for Sound from 2005 to 2011. Prior to joining Sound, he served as Director, Physician Recruitment for DaVita, where he was responsible nationally for oversight of physician recruitment duties. Mr. Burns graduated with a B.S. in Psychology from Louisiana State University in 1976.

Mr. Badour is a seasoned healthcare executive with close to 20 years of experience and a proven track record of business development strategies for healthcare organizations. Prior to joining ApolloMed in October 2014, Mr. Badour was Regional Sales Director for CompleteRx, a hospital pharmacy management services company based in Houston, Texas. Prior to joining CompleteRx, he was Regional Vice President for Business Development for Sound Physicians, a hospitalist staffing company in Tacoma, Washington. Previously, he was Vice President of Business Development for Emergency Physicians Medical Group in Ann Arbor, Michigan, from 2002 to 2006. Prior to this, he was the National Account Sales Manager for Concentra Medical Centers, which operates over 300 urgent care centers, from 1999 to 2001. Mr. Badour earned a B.A. in Economics and Management from Albion College in Albion, Michigan.He is an affiliate member of the American College of Healthcare Executives and San Diego Organization of Healthcare Leaders.
