(NASDAQ: CBLI) today announced the allowance of a U.S. patent application, to issue as U.S. Patent No. 9,006,183, covering composition of matter for CBLB612, an investigational drug in development for mobilization of hematopoietic stem cells (HSCs) and for the prevention of chemotherapy-induced myelosuppression. 

This new patent adds to the Company's portfolio of 3 issued or allowed U.S. patents covering CBLB612 and related agents, and over 15 related patents issued internationally. Further, this new patent contains composition of matter claims not only for CBLB612 but also related compounds.

The Company recently announced that dosing was completed in a Phase 1 healthy subject study of CBLB612. The objectives of the study include establishing a maximally tolerated dose, evaluating the safety profile and pharmacokinetics of CBLB612, and characterizing the type, quantity and timing of HSC mobilization. Analysis of data from the 56 healthy volunteers enrolled in the study is ongoing and data are expected to be reported in the second quarter of 2015. This study is partially funded through a contract from the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation.
