JACKSONVILLE, Fla., March 09, 2016 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- ParkerVision, Inc. (NASDAQ:PRKR), a leading developer and marketer of radio frequency technologies used in advanced wireless solutions, announced today that the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (“PTAB”) has issued its decisions with regard to the petitions for Inter Partes review (“IPR”) filed by Qualcomm Inc. and Qualcomm Atheros, Inc. (collectively “Qualcomm”) against various claims of three ParkerVision patents.
The PTAB denied all petitions for IPR against the claims Qualcomm challenged for ParkerVision’s U.S. Patent 7,039,372 (the ‘372 Patent). The PTAB instituted the petitions for IPR against the claims challenged for ParkerVision’s U.S. Patent 6,091,940 (the ‘940 Patent) and Patent 7,966,012 (the ‘012 Patent).
The ‘372 and the ‘940 Patent are among the patents asserted in the district court case against Qualcomm, Samsung and HTC (6:14-cv-00687) which is currently stayed pending the results of the Company’s proceedings at the U.S. International Trade Commission. The ‘012 Patent was recently removed from the district court case in a joint agreement between ParkerVision and the defendants in order to narrow the scope of the case.
