WEST MELBOURNE, FL / ACCESSWIRE / September 27, 2017 / RELM Wireless Corporation (NYSE American: RWC) today announced that it was awarded a five-year blanket purchase agreement (BPA) from the U.S. Air Force (USAF). The Company also immediately received an initial task order under the BPA totaling approximately $440,000. The task order is anticipated to be fulfilled during the fourth quarter 2017.

The BPA is for the Company's portable and mobile VHF radios, as well as related accessories for deployment in ASAF locations throughout the continental United States. The term of the BPA commenced on September 22, 2017, and expires on September 19, 2022, providing for purchases up to $5.5 million. The BPA does not specify or guarantee purchase quantities or delivery dates.

RELM President, Timothy Vitou, commented, "We are very excited about this award from the U.S. Air Force and pleased that a firm task order swiftly followed the BPA. Branches of the U.S. military have been a key focus for our strategic growth plans. We have had past success with the U.S. Army, and this blanket purchase order is indicative that our products are gaining more traction in this market segment. Additionally, we have aggressive sales initiatives underway with the Army and Navy, and look forward to future sales successes within these branches, as well."
