JACKSONVILLE, Fla., Sept. 16, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- ParkerVision, Inc. (Nasdaq:PRKR) ("ParkerVision") a developer and marketer of semiconductor technology solutions for wireless applications, today announced that on Friday, September 13, 2013, a pretrial statement was filed with the district court in the middle district of Florida in its patent infringement case against Qualcomm, Inc. ("Qualcomm"). The pretrial statement, which is a required joint statement filed by ParkerVision and Qualcomm in advance of the pretrial conference scheduled for September 19, 2013, provides the proposed lists of exhibits, witnesses, jury instructions, and jury selection questions, among other things. As part of the jury voir dire, or questions proposed for jury selection, the document discloses that ParkerVision is seeking damages in this case of nearly $500 million.

ParkerVision CEO, Jeffrey Parker commented, "Our damages estimate for direct and indirect infringement is limited to an estimate of infringing units shipped in the United States, which is the Court's jurisdiction. In addition, it is based on estimated past damages only and does not include future use of the patents in suit, nor does it include any adjustment for willfulness, which we believe we will successfully establish in this case."

In addition to the pretrial statement filed Friday, on September 12, 2013, ParkerVision filed a trial brief that provides a summary of the questions of law that the Court must determine after trial. The trial brief includes, among other things, a discussion of the evidence ParkerVision believes supports its willfulness charges against Qualcomm.

The trial term is scheduled to begin on October 7, 2013 in Orlando, Florida.

The pubic court documents in this case, including the pretrial statement and trial brief, can be found on ParkerVision's website at www.parkervision.com under Patent Litigation.
